Tourism industry can be promoted through the diversity of local food


Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe has said that the tourism industry can be promoted through the improvement of the diversity in the local food culture.

He said that improving the quality of food of various tastes unique to various Provinces will be an impetus to developing the tourism industry.

The primer mentioned that as they are expanding tourism, one thing missed in this process is quality Sri Lankan food and added that the different flavors have not been developed.

The PM made this comment participating in the opening of the “Thunapaha” Restaurant with local food and located in the Water’s Edge premises.
