In solidarity with victims of Irma – JVP invited

With in a statement the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP)  invited all progressive organizations around the world to stay in solidarity with victims of Irma in this moment of need.

We, comradely hope that all citizens of the affected countries will turn the tragedy into a challenge and overcome it with unity and sensibility. Furthermore, we hope that the affected countries stand together and work shoulder to shoulder in overcoming whatever the challenges may be, it stated.

Dear comrades,

In solidarity with victims of Irma

People around the world are shaken by the catastrophe United States and Caribbean Countrieshad to face with the landfall of hurricane Irma which is said to be the most intense Atlantic hurricane observed in over a decade and most intense hurricane hit United States after Katrina in 2005.

The hurricane has caused fatalities in several places. Simultaneously, had caused major damages to infrastructures of the countries. We, comradely hope that all citizens of the affected countries will turn the tragedy into a challenge and overcome it with unity and sensibility. Furthermore, we hope that the affected countries stand together and work shoulder to shoulder in overcoming whatever the challenges may be.

We, as the Peoples’ Liberation Front (JVP), Sri Lanka would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and wish fast recovery to the injured. We wish strength and courage for everyone to recover from the trauma and stabilize the countries rapidly. We invite all progressive organizations around the world to stay in solidarity with them in this moment of need.
