Government recognized the rights of people of all communities

Deputy Foreign Minister Harsha de Silva said that Sri Lanka has got two more years to implement a United Nations resolutions, but no new conditions have been added.

He said countries in the human rights council noted the progress made so far, and wanted the rest of the work to be done.

Sri Lanka’s government recognized the rights of people of all communities and faiths to be treated equally, he said.

He further said such requirement was not contained in the resolution and reports per se had no impact on sovereign states.
